Leung Chi Wo and Sara Wong’s Beautiful Irony

“He was lost yesterday and we found him today.”

Hong King-based husband-and-wife duo created life-size photographs of people who appeared accidentally in magazine or newspaper photographs.

These re-enactments of anonymous figures were displayed alongside the publications where they originally appeared.

I find the concept and execution refreshingly engaging.

The artists proved that a simple idea can produce powerful results, without deep socio-political messaging, at least not overtly.

This is from Signature Art Prize 2018 exhibition at the National Museum of Singapore, May 25–September 2, 2018.
